What does a scale have to do with Christmas? And, what, exactly, is a musical scale? Go to a piano and find the “C”. It is the white key just below (left of) the 2 black keys. Start on that key and play the next white key going left.
Keep stepping down the white keys until you get to the next “C”, which is just below the 2 black keys. You just played a scale, which is successive sounds going higher or lower with specific distances (or steps) between the notes. Now find another “C” on the piano (there are several to choose from). Start on “C” and walk down the white keys heading left until you land on the next “C” down. Next time you play the C scale, pause on the 1st , 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th keys (notes).
